Ðing Buot
Ðing Buot is the name of a musical instrument of Êdê minority. Ðing Buot is made from a hornless bamboo section opened at both ends, and of 47 - 57 cm length, 2.2 cm diameter. The instrument has 5 holes, of which 4 holes are finger hole while the rest hole which is located beside the blowing piece function as a escape-air hole. 5 holes are arranged with the equal distance of 4.5 cm. At the blowing piece, a small bamboo piece of rectangle-shape with 2 cm in length is fixed to make a blowing reed.
Ðing Bu?t is vertical flute and belongs to airophonic family, arch branch. It can flexibly play the fingering techniques such as tongue, vibrating, ligature, trill, mordent, go beyond, slipping. The sounds of Ðing Bu?t are clear and lyrical.
Ðing Bu?t is the favourite instrument of Ede's young men, they usually played it on milpa or in entertainment activities.
